Back when Indians hunted buffalo across the great plans and men found fortune by traveling west, a group of pioneers founded a settlement on the banks of The Trinity River and called it III Forks Territory. More than 150 years later, in the area now called Dallas, the Wamstad family keeps the independent spirit of those early adventurers alive at III Forks - a grand steak and seafood house.

A shimmering gold-gilded dome topsIII Forks. Of course, at the heart of the restaurant arethick, signature cuts of USDA prime beef, ocean fresh fish and succulent, buttery lobster.

"Texans definitely know their steak," says Dale Wamstad, who honed his skills as the founder of the renowned Del Frisco's Double Eagle Steak House in Dallas."I've spent my life delivering the best to the toughest customers - not by creating fancy sauces, but by taking the best meat and cooking it right.

From the tender filet mignon or prime rib to the giant porterhouse or flaky redfish filet, proprietors Rick Stein and Executive Chef Chris Vogeli maintain what Wamstad calls "An honesty, a purity, that's at the heart of everything we do.

III Forks can host a staggering 1,000 guests at one time, with the largest private dining room comfortably seating up to 350.
